The Hidden Ones

Psalm 83:3
    They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
  [hidden ones] Those whom God has hidden because they trusted in Him (Psalm 17:8; Psalm 27:5; Psalm 31:20; Psalm 64:2).
Thick green leaves from the soft brown earth,
Happy springtime has called them forth;
First faint promise of summer bloom
Breathes from the fragrant, sweet perfume,
Under the leaves.

Lift them! what marvelous beauty lies
Hidden beneath, from our thoughtless eyes!
Mayflowers, rosy or purest white,
Lift their cups to the sudden light,
     Under the leaves.

purple

Are there no lives whose holy deeds--
Seen by no eye save His who reads
Motive and action—in silence grow
Into rare beauty, and bud and blow
    Under the leaves.

Fair white flowers of faith and trust,
Springing from spirits bruised and crushed;
Touched and painted with Heavens own light
     Under the leaves.
purple 2
Full fresh clusters of duty borne,
Fairest of all in that shadow grown
Wondrous the fragrance that sweet and rare
Comes from the flower-cups hidden there
  Under the leaves.

Though unseen by our vision dim,
Bud and blossom are known to Him
Wait we content for His heavenly ray---
Wait till our Master Himself one day
    Lift up the leaves.

I Have Hope

    But we had hoped that He was the One who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. Luke 24:21

The soft sweet summer was warm and glowing
Bright were the blossoms on every bough:
I trusted Him when the roses were blooming;
I trust Him now..

Small was my faith should it weakly falter
Now that the roses have ceased to blow;
Frail was the trust that now should alter;
Doubting His love when storm clouds grow

He Goes Before

There are times that I would feel anxious to see far down the road of my life and overly concerned about the next steps I'll be taking in fear of failure. Once caught in this situation, I will always pray to God and find comfort. There are times that He answers me with the books I read and this poems really touched my heart...
Dark is the sky! and veiled the unknown morrow!
Dark is life's way, for night is not yet o'er
The longed-for glimpse I may not meanwhile borrow;
But this I know and trust, HE GOES BEFORE

Dangers are near! and fear my mind are shaking;
Heart seems to dread what life may hold in store;
But I am His--He knows the way I'm taking
More Blessed even still- HE GOES BEFORE

Doubt's cast their weird, unwelcome shadows o'er me
Doubt's that life's best---life's choicest things are o'er
What but His Word can strengthen, can restore me,
And this blest fact--HE GOES BEFORE.

HE GOES BEFORE! Be this my consolation!
HE GOES BEFORE! On this my heart would dwell!
HE GOES BEFORE! This guarantees salvation!
HE GOES BEFORE! And therefore all is well.

Our good shepherd Jesus Christ always walked ahead of His sheep. He is in my tomorrow but it seems that tomorrows that fills people with fear....I take heart for
God is in every tomorrow
Therefore I live for today
Certain at finding at sunrise,
Guidance and strength for my way;
Power for each moment of weakness
Hope for each moment of pain
Comfort for every sorrow,
Sunshine and joy after rain

I'm A Christian

I was surfing around the net and found this poem.
I thought of posting it as my way of saying that I'm a Christian....

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I’m not shouting "I’m clean living”
But I’m whispering
"I am lost but now I’m found"

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride
I am confessing that I stumble
And need JESUS to be my guide.

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I’m not trying to be strong.
I am professing that I am weak
And need Jesus’ strength to carry on

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I’m not bragging of success.
I am admitting that I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I’m not claiming to be RIGHTEOUS,
But God Imputes This to Me
Thru Christ Jesus

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I still feel the string of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... I’m A Christian"
I’m not "holier than thou",
I am a sinner
Who received God's unending grace
