Isaiah 21:8-9

Isaiah 21:8-9
    Then he cried, "A lion, my Lord!
    I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime;
    I have sat at my post every night.
    [9] And look, here comes a chariot of men with a pair of horsemen!"
    Then he answered and said,
    "Babylon is fallen, is fallen!
    And all the carved images of her gods
    He has broken to the ground."

Life Application Notes:
Babylon was not only a great and powerful city, it was also filled with horrible sin (idolatry, witchcraft, and temple prostitution). Babylon was, and remains, a symbol of all that stands against God. Despite all its glory and power, Babylon would be destroyed, along with all its idols. They would give no help in time of trouble.
